Farley Johnson and his best friend, Joshua Jeeters, are a couple of not-very-responsible sixth-graders who spend way too much time reading spy novels. Ms Limerick, their sweet but eccentric teacher, has been telling them about Medusa so, when the boys accidentally get their hands on a device to stop time and discover people frozen in place, they conclude that they have turned everybody to stone.
